Prisoners Building Homes is already delivering at scale: 1,200+ homes are in the pipeline across 180+ sites, working with 8 prisons, 10 housebuilders and 32 local authority clients. 159 serving and post-release prisoners have participated, supported by the UK’s first NVQ2 modular construction qualification created through PBH. The Torquay proof-of-concept home cost £105k end-to-end and was built and assembled on site in 12 weeks, with homes typically delivered within 16 weeks (subject to planning and site conditions). Over 10 years, PBH is projected to generate £1.5bn in societal benefits – £8.50 of social value for every £1 invested.
